eDavki and OS support

It's time of the year when we Slovenians have to file out taxes. For last three years it's possible to do that over the Internet which is just great and I did it every year so far.

But not everything is perfect. I have heard some complaints that the web application only supports Windows and Linux. Which is odd. According to stats from three very different sites I run (this blog, TVvSPOREDnik and NauticaLinks) Linux is used less than Mac OS by a healthy margin!

Is someone from Hermes SoftLab reading this that can explain, please?

Hermes SoftLab has no decision power in this case. eDavki are owned by tax administration office (DURS) and they decide which functionality to add.

The issue of supporting MacOS platform has been discussed between DURS and HSL year and a half ago, but at that point DURS did not decide to go for it. I dare to assume that statistics were a bit different then.

In the last year priorities were high on other areas, mainly because of all the tax reforms, so extending support to Mac was not discussed at all until lately, when Mac users started to heat up the issue.

Klemen, thanks for you comment! I hope DURS decides to support OS X in following years. Thumbs up for HSL!
