I was waiting for the day that Google would announce paid version of Google Apps for Your Domain. It happened today...
Google Apps for your Domain is now called simple Google Apps. And it's still free. There is a subscription service called "Premier" that is target to bigger companies, but regular users can stick to regular version.
I'm also very glad that Docs & Spreadsheets is finally part of Google Apps.
This means I actually don't need to have Open/MS/... Office installed at all. I switched from Outlook to Gmail and couple of spreadsheets that keep my life under control can easily be done in Google Spreadsheet. And writting a tet is even simpler task...
Not that I like on-line apps that much... It's just extremely handy to have same documents available wherever I go. It goes for e-mail, notes, calculations.... So it's about remote storage not remote computing! I think lots of people don't get that.
But Google does. Thanks, uncle Google.
